1Melayu 1Bumi plan not in line with 1Malaysia, says MCA president Chua Soi Lek, reports The Star Tuesday April 26, 2011.
Responding to Utusan Malaysia Deputy Chief Editor Zaini Hassan’s Cuit column on 20 April 2011, Chua claims “1Melayu 1Bumi” was not in line with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak‘s 1Malaysia concept.
I really can’t fathom this Chua fellow. He can’t keep the Chinese united within his party, in fact they seem to be more united against his party and unfortunately, the Government, and now he wants to meddle in Malay unity.
Chua, 1Malay 1Bumi only aims to unite Malays in response against Chinese chauvinism practised and promoted by the DAP. DAP you know, the party that’s supposed to be your nemesis!
These Malays have never been entirely against Chinese, only against Chinese chauvinists and chauvinism.
Go back to history Chua. The Malays have always made concession, even to their own detriment, to accommodate their guests.
When the Alliance was formed, it was solid Malay unity that pulled this country through. It was solid Malay votes that ensured Chinese candidates win the first Kuala Lumpur Municipal elections in 1952 and the subsequent Federal elections.
If the Malays had not been united and supported Alliance concept, would the Chinese of MCA gain any foothold?
After the 1969 general election, wasn’t it the overwhelming support of the Malays that shored up the position of the Alliance and therefore guaranteed the continued survival of the MCA eventhough the MCA had pulled itself out of the Alliance having suffered massive defeat?
Chua, give some credit to the Malays. Jangan pandai condemn saja.
